What is the next big technology revolution (as part of our HR Revolution) that will actually fundamentally change how we find jobs, how we find people, and how we connect the work with the workforce? Some say Web 2.0 is the next revolution - and I think conceptually it makes sense, but is this really the next step? or Is technlogy still far apart and far beyond one direction. Let's take CD and DVD formats - there's Blue Ray and then there are two or three others (can the world really live with 3 types of DVD formats???) - anyway, what is the next big technological breakthrough? and are these breakthroughs the same for "Job Seeker" and "Job Provider"?

To understand the technology that will approach us like freight train, we first need to analyze the job market in each country. In the U.S., for example, un-employment rate is currently at 5.1%. This means that a lot of people are not looking for jobs and yet there are so many jobs posted on the major online job boards. Does this make any sense? Of course it does if we consider that a lot of people that work and are not looking for other work can find themselves encouraged to apply to work at new companies. This type of job-seeker is called a passive job-seeker and, for the past few years, company have found creative ways to attract passive candidates.

While online commerical job boards were once created to go after the active job-seekers and Jobs & Careers web sites on individual company sites were created for that same reason, it is now making more sense to use other online commerical recruiting tools to reach the passive job-seeker as well as to implement technology onto our company's web sites that can do the same thing: reach out, attract, and retain the passive job-seekers.
